Category: Horticulture : Lawn and Landscape Location: Northeast Description: Exciting opportunity to be the "expert in residence" for a long established organic retail nursery/landscaping company catering to an estate property clientele. This is a key position of major importance to the entire company. Duties: -Research the latest organic soil amendments, product, techniques and applications, as well as related water, air and mineral concerns. -Manage and lead soil test process. Evaluate soil tests for the company and create solutions for cleansing the soil of toxins, amending for the living systems. -Create standard operating procedure and detailed training program for the existing organic program. -Immediately educate organic training for every new employee hired -Train field staff on how to apply products, new site preparations and established landscapes, maintenance, irrigation and flower gardens. -Help monitor properties and nursery and input on status weekly -Set up series of weekend workshops in and around the retail business, health aspects of property and landscape management. -Interview and help recruit property care, production and retail staff -Assist Yard Manager with program for plant health care in the yard Qualifications: College degree and/or experience equivalent. Extensive knowledge in organic growing, plants and products -Comprehensive education in soil science, horticulture & lawn / turf care -Experience with teaching, training and educating -Biology background or formal education -Previous experience in researching soil amendments using organics Compensation: $60,000-?
